we are passionate about curating kitchens that are not just spaces for cooking & dining
At Butler Interiors, we are passionate about curating kitchens that are not just spaces for cooking and dining but are reflections of your individual style and aspirations. Our mission is to create bespoke kitchens that embody your vision.
From the finest worktops to stylish yet functional cabinetry, we’ll bring your creative ideas to life. Every detail, from hobs to sinks, is carefully tailored to enhance your lifestyle and meet your needs.
To delve into the benefits of having a bespoke kitchen, we sat down with our talented designers, Liam Butler and Sophie Askew, to ask them a few questions.
What advantages are there to having a kitchen designed and tailored specifically for your needs?
Liam: “You can maximise the design potential in ergonomics and aesthetics. We recently completed a kitchen where the client didn’t want to see any support legs on their worktops. So, we created a steel cantilever frame to support a large, overhanging worktop. These unique elements would not be possible with ‘off the shelf’ kitchen options.”
Sophie: “Being able to tailor your own kitchen to align with your lifestyle can be very practical. For example, you can choose the amount of storage to meet your specific needs based on whether you’re a weekly shopper versus if you’re a monthly shopper, who has need for extra storage areas.”
What may people not consider when purchasing a standard kitchen?
Liam: “One thing I’m very particular about is worktop height. The standard worktop height is around 900mm. However, this will feel completely different to each individual depending on their height. A standard kitchen worktop is either higher or lower than a hob or sink, making it quite impossible for an optimised workspace for all users. One size does not fit all!”
Sophie: “Being able to adapt a kitchen to your needs can make all the difference, when using and enjoying your new kitchen. We design kitchens to become a hub of your home, where you can spend time in a functional and beautiful space that is unique to you. It could even lead to a new love for cooking – if you don’t already love it!”
What is your top tip for clients when they start thinking about their dream kitchen?
Liam: “Consult a kitchen design expert who has a diverse knowledge of their product range and kitchen design possibilities, and (perhaps most importantly) visit several showrooms yourself. Make sure the priorities of the company align with yours, that way you know you’ll gain the best from them throughout the project and after completion.”
Sophie: “Think about the overall feel you would like the space to create. There are many styles and colour combinations to create a certain feeling. However, keep an open mind, going in on one style and colour may not always achieve your vision.”
